Success Program Syllabus |
Objective
The purpose of the “Team
Success” Specialty is to guide a team of 2-8 people through a
multi-faceted challenge that engage the mind and the body. Each
challenge typically takes 4 dives, including a briefing session before
and debriefing after each dive. |
Overview
The
Focus is on the
group process, dive teams progress through a series of creative
problem-solving challenges that require intensive teamwork.
The “Team Success” specialty
emphasizes creative problem solving and teamwork across a variety of
underwater challenges, which bring new insights at the individual and
team levels. Emphasizing group process, the instructors lead a
discussion after each dive so that the team can recognize its
strengths and seize immediate opportunities to improve. |
Goals
The goal is to - Recognize the team's
characteristics. Determine and identify the task skills and process
skills needed to achieve the challenge.
Begin developing the highest-priority
process skills by exploring new ways of working together.
Develop team problem-solving
abilities plus strategies for continuous improvement. |
Prerequisites
Prerequisite
certification(s):
PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or another
training agency’s equivalent certification, the PADI Underwater
Navigator specialty or another training agency’s equivalent
certification and PADI Search and Recovery Diver or another training
agency’s equivalent certification. (Diver’s participating in Team
Success MUST BE certified in these three courses.) Peak
Performance Buoyancy or
another training agency’s equivalent certification
is highly recommended. The Teaching status PADI Instructor is to
ensure that the individual has the appropriate certification.
Minimum age
requirement: 15 years. Student-to-instructor ratio: 8:1.
Dive data - four
scuba dives - recommended depth for open water training is 25 feet to
70 feet. |
